MLB Rumors: Detroit Tigers Linked to Infielder

The Detroit Tigers are looking to add an infielder to their current group before the start of the 2023 regular season. As a result, they are now being linked to free-agent infielder Tommy La Stella.

La Stella was recently released by the San Francisco Giants, and now he’s looking for a new home. The veteran infielder is coming off of a fairly disappointing season, as he had two home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .239 batting average in 60 appearances. For his standards, this is far below expectations, as he has been a solid contact hitter for several seasons before. Yeah, it appears that the Tigers believe that he can bounce back, so let’s see if they end up making a bigger push for him from here.

La Stella would provide the Tigers with more experience to go along with solid versatility. After all, he can play second base and third base, so he could serve multiple roles if signed. Let’s see if the Tigers end up landing him from here.
