MLB Rumors: 3 teams In On Aroldis Chapman
Former New York Yankees and Chicago Cubs closer Aroldis Chapman is starting to gain some traction on the free agent market. We've now learned of three teams that are willing to take a shot on the former 7-time All-Star.
The Marlins, Royals and Padres are among the teams interested in Aroldis Chapman, per sources.

The Miami Marlins are actually said to have made an offer that the Cuban reliever turned down. In addition to the Marlins, whose interest we reported on a couple of weeks back, the Kansas City Royals and San Diego Padres have also joined the fray.
Chapman has 315 career saves, seven All-Star appearances, and eight seasons with at least 30 saves, most recently in 2021. But he lost the closer's job for the Yankees this past season, and then lost his chance to pitch in the postseason for them when he went M.I.A. in September.
He threw a bullpen for interested teams earlier this month, but rumored interested at the time from two West Coast teams was said to be premature.
Aroldis Chapman rumor about offers from Dodgers and Padres is not accurate. Chapman had a bullpen in Miami yesterday in front of one MLB team, but there's nothing on the table yet, per sources. pic.twitter.com/0RsEZhrtky

And while the Los Angeles Dodgers are not mentioned in the latest rumor, it appears that the Padres are still showing interest.
