Minnesota Twins Outright Outfielder

He was designated for assignment on Dec. 20 to make room for newly-signed outfielder Joey Gallo.

However, Minnesota Twins outfielder Mark Contreras passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as outfield depth for the team this coming season.

The twenty-seven-year-old defensive specialist got into 28 games last year for the Twins, slashing an ugly .121/.148/.293 line, with three home runs, six RBIs, one stolen base and nine runs scored across 58 at-bats.

In the minors last season, he slashed a decent .237/.317/.735, with 15 home runs, 59 RBIs, 23 stolen bases and 64 runs scored over 376 at-bats.

Contreras is a former ninth-round pick by the Twins in the 2017 MLB Draft.
