It's a one-year, $3.5M deal for Anderson, with another $2M in incentives.
Anderson provides another right-handed bat on offense, while being able to play both third base and right field on defense. Both positions were spots in which the Brew Crew needed some help.
The 29-year-old has spent his entire six-year career in the majors with the Miami Marlins, and has a lifetime .256 average with a .750 OPS, and is an above-average hitter overall, with an OPS+ of 105 (five percent better than the average).
Anderson has missed plenty of time due to injuries over the past couple of seasons, playing only 98 games last year and 67 in 2021. But before that, he posted an OPS over .800 in 2019 and 2020, including a 20-HR season in '19, his last "full" season.
He also becomes the second Brian Anderson that Brewers fans will be familiar with, as the 'other' Brian Anderson is Milwaukee's television play-by-play announcer.
