Vieira spent the last three seasons in Japan, recording a pristine 2.86 ERA and 150 strikeouts over 125.2 innings of work for the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball.
For his three-year major league career, the twenty-five-year-old holds a poor 7.36 ERA, 1.79 WHIP, and 24 strikeouts over 25.2 innings of work. He's spent time with the Seattle Mariners and the Chicago White Sox.
Vieira will work to make the Brewers' bullpen for Opening Day this spring.
