Mariners Promising Outfielder Surprisingly Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Sent Outright
Well, this is extremely surprising.
The Seattle Mariners removed outfielder Alberto Rodriguez from their 40-man roster last week in order to clear a spot for J.B. Bukauskas and he shockingly went unclaimed on waivers.

It's a big break for the Mariners.
The promising twenty-two-year-old slashed a solid .261/.336/.732 line, with 10 home runs, 46 RBIs, six stolen bases and 59 runs scored over 119 games at High-A Everett last season.
For his minor-league career, Rodriguez holds a strong .274/.356/.774 triple-slash line, with 27 home runs, 174 RBIs, 55 stolen bases and 202 runs scored over 1,267 at-bats.
He'll continue his development in the Mariners' minor-league system.
