Los Angeles Dodgers Sign Catcher
The Los Angeles Dodgers have made a depth move, as they have signed catcher David Freitas to a minor league contract.
Freitas spent all of last season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, where he had two home runs, nine RBIs, and a .239 batting average in 36 games. Overall, it was a fairly underwhelming season for the catcher, but now he will be aiming to make a bigger impact with the Dodgers organization from here.
With this move, the Dodgers have added to their catching depth. Freitas could be a potential call-up for when injuries arise during the season, but we will have to wait and see if that does in fact occur as the year progresses. His last major league appearance occurred in 2019 when he was with the Seattle Mariners.
