LA Dodgers Reveal Plans For Infield Lineup
The Los Angeles Dodgers infield will have a whole new look this season after the losses of Trea Turner and Justin Turner in free agency. They do have plenty of players with versatility so they could have gone many ways, but according to Dodgers president of baseball operations, they plan to line it up as such:
1B: Freddie Freeman
2B: Miguel Vargas
SS: Gavin Lux
3B: Max Muncy
The Dodgers also have Miguel Rojas, a Gold Glove finalist, acquired in the offseason in a trade with the Miami Marlins. He will apparently start off as a utility option; he can play first, second, third or short, the latter where most of his work (and his GG finalist recognition) has been.
As for Lux, the former first-round draft pick and one-time highly-regarded prospect, Friedman says he showed them just how "dynamic" he can be this past year.

"We're excited about Luxy, and feel like he's going to be in the middle of a lot of things for us going forward."
The rookie, Vargas, has played more 3B than 2B in the minors, and he also is listed as a 1B and OF. He hit .304 with a .915 OPS at Triple-A in 2022.
