Topping the list is yet another Baltimore Orioles stud. For the second year in a row, the O's take top spot with third baseman Gunnar Henderson named the No. 1 overall prospect in baseball, following up his now-teammate, catcher Adley Rutschman who earned the honors in 2022.
Henderson gave Baltimore fans a taste of his immense talent with a successful 34-game cameo in September, posting a .788 OPS with four home runs, seven doubles and a triple in just 116 at-bats.
Corbin Carroll, the Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder who also excelled at the major league level in his brief trial, ranks No. 2. He had an .830 OPS and four dingers in 104 at-bats.
New York Mets' catcher Francisco Alvarez comes in at No. 3, although his role with the big club entering the 2023 season isn't quite etched in stone yet, as is the case with Henderson and Carroll.
St. Louis Cardinals big-time OF prospect Jordan Walker is the No. 4 overall prospect, while New York Yankees' shortstop Anthony Volpe—who the team and fans hope takes over the starting SS job in the Bronx this spring—is at No. 5 on the list.
