Houston Astros & KC Royals Talking Blockbuster Trade

The Houston Astros are looking to beef up the catcher position before the start of the 2023 season. As a result, they are now browsing the trade market to see if they land an upgrade. Due to this, there are rumblings that they are aiming to make a big push for Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez.

Perez would certainly be a major splash for the Astros, as he is a seven-time All-Star and has the potential to provide major pop at the plate. Keep in mind, he had 48 home runs in 161 games back in 2021. However, his power numbers did go down, as he had 23 home runs and 76 RBIs.

At the end of the day, Perez is still a very good catcher and exactly the player that the Astros should be aiming to bring in. Alas, we will need to wait and see if they can do just that before the regular season begins.
