Giants Catcher Goes Unclaimed On Waivers; Sent Outright
He went unclaimed on waivers.
The San Francisco Giants have sent catcher Austin Wynns outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
Austin Wynns cleared waivers and can elect free agency. Farhan Zaidi made it sound as though #SFGiants very much want him back. Said it's unlikely they'll add another catcher on an MLB deal. Likely some competition on an NRI.

Wynns now has the option to elect free agency rather than accept the outright assignment. However, the Giants are reportedly hoping that he'll stay with the organization and continue to serve as the backup to starting catcher Joey Bart.
We'll have to wait and see what Wynns decides to do.
The thirty-two-year-old slashed a pedestrian .259/.313/.358 line, with three home runs, 21 RBIs and 14 runs scored over 65 games in his Giants' debut last season.
