Former Texas Rangers Pitcher Signs Overseas
Former Texas Rangers pitcher Kohei Arihara is taking his talents to Japan, as he has signed a deal with the SoftBank Hawks.
Arihara spent the beginning of his professional career in Japan, and now he is heading right back there after a fairly underwhelming tenure in Texas. In 15 total games as a Ranger, he had a 3-7 record to go along with a very high 7.57 ERA. His 2022 campaign was not much better, either, as he had a 1-3 record and a 9.45 ERA in five appearances.
Arihara will be aiming to find consistency back in Japan. If he performs well, perhaps it could lead to him landing another major league contract later down the road. Time will tell if that does indeed happen from here.
