Former Baltimore Orioles Infielder Signs In Mexico
The Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League have signed infielder Renato Nunez for the 2023 season.
Nunez is remembered most for his days with the Baltimore Orioles, as that was where he played the best baseball of his major league career. During the 2019 season, he hit a whopping 31 home runs to go along with 90 RBIs and a .244 batting average. However, after that excellent year, Nunez was never able to replicate that kind of production in the majors again. As a result, his time in the majors ended after the 2021 season.
Nunez will now be aiming to put up big numbers in Mexico. If he does, it would not be surprising in the slightest to see him receive another crack in the majors later down the road. Until then, we will have to wait and see how he ends up performing in Mexico from here.
