Detroit Tigers Claim Former Top Prospect Pitcher
Snagged by the Detroit Tigers.
The Tigers have claimed pitcher Edwin Uceta off of waivers from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Uceta was removed from the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster a couple weeks ago when the Evan Longoria deal was made official.

Once a lauded prospect with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Uceta has struggled to a career 6.27 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 38 strikeouts over 37.1 innings of work in the majors.
The twenty-five-year-old has found more success in the minors, however, posting a 3.92 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 472 strikeouts over 410.2 innings. He's made 75 starts, 40 relief appearances and holds a 28-16 record.
The Tigers will hope a fresh start, and a little work, can help Uceta finally find success.
