Colorado Rockies Re-Sign Veteran Pitcher

Bringing him back.

The Colorado Rockies have signed pitcher Ty Blach to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training.

Blach elected free agency after he was removed from the Rockies' 40-man roster back in November, but he has decided to return to Colorado after failing to land a job elsewhere this winter.

This past season, the thirty-two-year-old posted a 5.89 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 29 strikeouts across 44.1 innings of work with the Rockies.

2022 was Blach's first season in the majors since the 2019 season when he was with the Baltimore Orioles. In between those three seasons, Blach labored in the minor leagues where he holds a career 3.89 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 527 strikeouts over 753.2 innings.

He'll look to land a spot in the Rockies' bullpen for the start of the 2023 season.
