Chicago Cubs Sign Catcher
The Chicago Cubs have signed Dom Nunez to a minor-league contract.
This move is simply one that provides the Cubs with more depth for the 2023 season. However, if Nunez can impress at spring training, perhaps he could find his way onto their major league roster for the start of the year. If not, he will serve as a potential collab option for when injuries happen during the regular season.
Nunez has appeared in 111 career MLB games, where he has 12 home runs, 39 RBIs, and a .180 batting average. Overall, he has shown some pop at the plate, but hitting for contact has been his primary issue. Let’s see if he can change that with the Cubs in 2023.
