BREAKING: Boston Red Sox Sign Rafael Devers to Monster Contract
Earlier this week, the Boston Red Sox signed Rafael Devers to a one-year contract. That naturally made Red Sox fans nervous, as Devers was one year away from becoming an unrestricted free agent. Now, they don’t have to worry about him leaving, as he has signed an 11-year, $331 million contract to stay in Boston long-term.

The deal is not done. The physical process hasn't started. But in the end, Devers is expected to remain in Boston.
This is simply fantastic news for the Red Sox. It has been a disastrous offseason for them, as they of course lost fellow superstar Xander Bogaerts to the San Diego Padres. Yet, thankfully they are keeping one of their other stars around in Devers, so that does lessen the sting just a bit. It still doesn't make up for Boston's offseason completely, but it surely is a massive win for the Red Sox regardless.
With Devers still being only 26 years old, a significant portion of this long-term deal will take place during his prime years. As a result, this contract has the potential to age quite well compared to other superstars' long-term contracts. All Boston fans can now breathe a sigh of relief, as Devers will likely stay in Beantown for the remainder of his career.
