Boston Red Sox Sign Outfielder
The Boston Red Sox have added to their depth, as they have signed Raimel Tapia to a minor league contract.
Tapia will give the Red Sox another outfield option as they gear up for the 2023 season. The 28-year-old spent this past season with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he had seven home runs, 52 RBIs, and a .265 batting average. Overall, it was a solid year for him, so it is a little surprising to see that he has had to settle for a minor league deal. Yet, he will now need to impress at Spring Training to earn himself a spot on the Red Sox's Opening Day roster.
Overall, this seems like a good move on paper for the Red Sox. If Tapia impresses, he could work well as the team's fourth outfielder.
