Boston Red Sox Sign Left-Handed Pitcher
The Boston Red Sox add a left-handed arm.
The Red Sox have signed pitcher Skylar Arias to a minor-league contract.
#Redsox sign Pitcher Skylar Arias to #MiLB deal. Interesting signing. High strikeout numbers in minors but some walk issues. Worth the gamble. Fanned 37 hitters in 23 innings last year with @WSDashBaseball. https://t.co/Tu8eR1nD1C

Arias, a 24th-round pick by the Cleveland Guardians in the 2016 MLB Draft, has yet to pitch above the Double-A level.
Arias finished last season with an underwhelming 4.44 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts over 24.1 innings of work in the Chicago White Sox's minor-league system. He made 26 relief appearances and held a 2-1 record.
Arias will serve as organizational relief depth for the Red Sox.
