Baltimore Orioles Claim Infielder Off Waivers

Lewin Diaz has found another new home, as he has been claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles.

Deas had a very event full offseason, as he has been claimed off waivers four times in it alone. Clearly, the Orioles are very interested in having him on the roster, as this is the second time that they have claimed him through the wire. Diaz will now be hoping that this is the last time he finds a new home this offseason.

Diaz spent this last season with the Miami Marlins, where he had five home runs, 11 RBIs, and a .169 batting average in 58 games played. Overall, it is fair to say that he struggled, but now he will be hoping to have a strong year with Baltimore. The potential for him to be a solid hitter in the majors is there, but consistency has been an issue in his career thus far. Let’s see if he can change that in 2023.
