Arizona Diamondbacks Sign Catcher

 

The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed a new catcher, as P.J. Higgins has been brought in on a minor league contract.

Higgins spent this past season with the Chicago Cubs, where he had six home runs, 30 RBIs, and a .229 batting average in 74 games. Overall, it was a year of mixed results for him, but now he will be aiming to take that next step in his development as a member of the Diamondbacks.

With the Diamondbacks not possessing the strongest of rosters, it is clear that Higgins could earn himself a spot in the majors if he impresses at spring training. We will need to wait and see if he can do just that from here.
