Arizona Diamondbacks Designate Pitcher for Assignment

The Arizona Diamondbacks have designated Edwin Uceta for assignment. As a result of this move, he is officially off of the Diamondbacks' 40-man roster.

Due to the fact that he has been designated for assignment, Uceta will now either be traded or placed on waivers before the end of the week. Teams looking for a bit of pitching depth could certainly consider the idea of claiming Uceta off of waivers from here. After all, he is still only 24 years old, so he has plenty of upside.

Uceta struggled in 2022 with the D Backs, however, as he had a 0-0 record to go along with a 5.82 ERA in 10 games. If he finds a new home, he will be aiming to be more consistent with them in 2023 from here.
