To make room on the 40-man roster, the Yankees designated LHP Lucas Luetge for assignment.
Luetge has pitched well for the Yankees over the last two seasons, registering a strong 2.71 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, and 138 strikeouts over 129.2 innings of work.
For his career, the thirty-five-year-old southpaw holds a 3.38 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 212 strikeouts over 218.2 innings of work.
There's a good chance the Yankees trade him to an interested team in the coming days.
