Washington Nationals Designate Pitcher for Assignment
The Washington Nationals have designated Reed Garrett for assignment.
Garrett appeared in seven games for the Nationals last season, where he had a 1-1 record to go along with a 6.75 ERA. Needless to say, he struggled in the majors when called upon, so perhaps this DFA is not the most surprising of developments.
Teams are now able to either claim Garrett off of waivers or attempt to trade for him. He could be a decent option for clubs looking for pitching depth, so we will have to wait and see what happens with him from here.
