Toronto Blue Jays Sign Pitcher

The Toronto Blue Jays have designated Anthony Kay for assignment.

Kay has made appearances in each of the last four seasons with the Blue Jays but only pitched two innings for them in 2022. As a result, perhaps his removal from their 40-man roster is not too surprising at this juncture.

Teams around the league will now have the chance to claim Kay off of waivers if they wish to. In 28 career MLB games, the 6-foot lefty has a 4-2 record to go along with a 5.48 ERA. Let's see if he can improve upon these stats with another club in 2023 from here.
