Top 4 Remaining Free Agent Starting Pitchers

With Nate Eovaldi off the board, and the ageless Rich Hill signing on with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday, the ranks of viable starting pitchers on the free agent market dwindled once again.

But for a team still needing rotation depth, four solid starters are still out there, waiting to find a new home.

Corey Kluber

He won't be winning any more Cy Young awards (he had two with Cleveland, in 2014 and 2017), but the 36-year-old can still be a mid-to-back end rotation piece for a major league team. He had a 4.34 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2022, with a 139:21 K/BB ratio.

Michael Wacha

A former Red Sox starter from 2022, the 31-year-old had an 11-2 record with a 3.32 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 127.1 innings. The Baltimore Orioles have been said to be interested in the former St. Louis Cardinals All-Star.

Johnny Cueto

15-year veteran Cueto reestablished his value this past season, putting up a nice 3.35 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP for the Chicago White Sox. The 36-year-old has been linked thus far with the Toronto Blue Jays and Miami Marlins, among other potential suitors.

Wade Miley

His 2022 season was riddled with injuries, but that aside, the 36-year-old had been reasonably durable over his career, pitching at least 157 innings in eight of the nine previous full major league seasons. And when he did pitch with the Chicago Cubs in '22 he was very solid, with a 3.16 ERA, and 1.22 WHIP.
