Detroit Tigers Claim Lefty From Oakland A's
The Detroit Tigers certainly liked what they saw of him from the other dugout, and as soon as the Oakland A's designated pitcher Zach Logue for assignment this week, the Tigers pounced.
LHP Zach Logue, 10 starts w/A’s last year as a rookie, has been claimed by the Tigers. Had been DFA’ed by Oakland.

Against his new team, the Tigers, last season: 13IP 10K, 2BB 2ER (1.38ERA)
Detroit has claimed the left-hander off waivers coming off his rookie season. Logue was part of the A's return in the trade sending Gold Glove third baseman Matt Chapman to the Toronto Blue Jays last year.
In 13 innings for the A's in 2022 against the Tigers, Logue held them to a 1.38 ERA. The Tigers didn't forget.
Overall, Logue's rookie season didn't go so well, however, as the 26-year-old, in 10 starts and four relief appearances, pitched to a 6.79 ERA with a 1.54 WHIP.
The Tigers have already added Michael Lorenzen and Matt Boyd to their rotation for 2023, so Logue's role could depend on the health of the rotation, which also includes Eduardo Rodriguez, Matt Manning and Spencer Turnbull.
