Texas Rangers Sign Outfielder

The Texas Rangers have signed Joe McCarthy to a minor league contract. He also has been invited to attend Spring Training with the major league squad.

McCarthy inked a deal with the Rangers last season as well but was later released to allow him to join the Orix Buffaloes of NPB. Yet, now he is ready to resume his North American career and will be hoping to make Texas' major league roster from here.

McCarthy has appeared in four major league games over his career, where he has gone 0-for-10 at the plate.
