Seattle Mariners Bring Back Infielder
After electing to become a free agent, Riley Unroe has now re-signed with the Seattle Mariners on a minor league deal.
Unroe spent this past season with Double-A Arkansas, and it was a decent year for him. In 102 games, he had eight home runs, 53 RBIs, and a .264 batting average. If he can replicate these kinds of numbers in 2023, it could easily land him a spot on their Triple-A roster. However, given his versatility, he could even serve as a utility option for the Mariners if he impresses at Spring Training.
Alas, with this move, the Mariners are simply keeping a piece of their depth around. Let's see if Unroe can take that next step in his development in 2023 from here.
