San Francisco Giants Designate Pitcher for Assignment

The San Francisco Giants have designated Gregory Santos for assignment.

Santos appeared in two games for the Giants this past season, where he had a 0-0 record to go along with a 4.91 ERA. Although the sample size was too small to cast any real judgment, the 23-year-old has still been removed from San Francisco's 40-man roster. As a result, he is now on the waiver wire.

Given his young age, it seems possible that another team could take a chance on Santos from here. Alas, time will tell what ends up occurring on that front from here.
