San Francisco Giants Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The San Francisco Giants have claimed Miguel Yajure off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Yajure appeared in a career-high 12 games last season with the Pirates, but it is apparent that he struggled when called upon. Although he had a 1-1 record, he also sported a rather high 8.88 ERA. That is likely what led the Pirates to remove the 6-foot-1 righty from their 40-man roster, but now he has found a new home with a deeper Giants team.

Yajure's goal will now be to impress at Spring Training. If he does, it could lead him to make their Opening Day roster. Time will tell what happens on that front from here.
