The deal keeps Cashman in his roles as Senior Vice President and General Manager through the 2026 season.

Of course, the announcement the fans were hoping for is the re-signing of franchise icon Aaron Judge. The offers, from both Cashman and from the San Francisco Giants, are said to be well over $300M at this point, and a decision is thought to be coming within the next day or two.
If Judge is re-signed, then, and only then, might Yankee fans accept the Cashman announcement.
