New York Yankees Designate Pitcher for Assignment

The New York Yankees have designated Junior Fernandez for assignment.

The Yankees needed to free up a roster spot now that the Aaron Judge and Carlos Rodon signings have been made official. This, unfortunately, made Fernandez expendable and now he is set to hit the waiver wire.

Fernandez is coming off of a solid season that saw him split time between the St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates. In 16 games, he had a 0-0 record to go along with a 2.41 ERA.
