New York Mets Sign Veteran Pitcher
The New York Mets have made another splash with their rotation, as they have inked Jose Quintana to a two-year, $26 million contract.
Quintana is coming off of an excellent 2022 season that saw him split time between the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals. In 32 games, he sported a 6-7 record but also had a very solid 2.93 ERA. His losing record is due to pitching for a rebuilding Pirates team, but there's no denying that he was very effective when called upon - hence him landing this big deal with the Mets.
The Mets are clearly going all-in this free agency, and this latest Quintana signing only proves that more. Let's see what the Mets end up doing next from here because they clearly are not done.
