New York Mets Sign Pitcher

The New York Mets have signed Jimmy Yacabonis to a minor league contract.

Yacabonis spent this past season split this season in Florida, as he had stints with the Miami Marlins and Tampa Bay Rays. In 14 games between them, he sported a 1-1 record to go along with an 8.36 ERA. Overall, it was a year of mixed results for Yacabonis, but now he will be hoping to have better results as a Met.

With this being a minor league pact, Yacabonis will first need to impress at Spring Training to have any shot of being selected to the Mets' 40-man roster. It will be intriguing to see what happens on that front.
