MLB Rumors: Texas Rangers Linked to 2 Free Agents

After missing out on Michael Conforto, the Texas Rangers are expected to make pushes to sign Jurickson Profar and Trey Mancini.

Profar is one of the best hitters on the free-agent markets now that several top players have found their new homes. Still, Profar could be a decent consolation prize for the Rangers if they successfully sign him. He has two 20-home run campaigns on his resume and hit 15 in 152 games with the San Diego Padres last season.

Mancini, on the other hand, had 18 home runs, 63 RBIs, and a .239 batting average in 143 games split between the Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros last season. It was a down year for his standards, but perhaps a move to Texas could lead to him heating up again. After all, he did have 33 home runs in the 2021 season.
