MLB Rumors: Milwaukee Brewers Making Major Push for Catcher
While speaking with reporters, Milwaukee Brewers GM Curt Hugg noted that he wants to improve at the catcher position. As a result, top free-agent catcher Christian Vazquez is on Milwaukee's radar.
Since Willson Contreras signed a deal with the St. Louis Cardinals, Vazquez has been receiving a plethora of offers. Now, the Brewers are surely getting involved in the sweepstakes, and they will be hoping to convince the two-time World Series champ to head to Milwaukee.
In 119 games this past season between the Boston Red Sox and Houston Astros, Vazquez had nine home runs, 52 RBIs, and a .274 batting average. Overall, he is a very solid catcher while at his best, so let's see if the Brewers can sign him from here.
