MLB Rumors: Houston Astros Linked to Free-Agent Catcher

The market for Tucker Barnhart’s services is heating up, as the Houston Astros are making a big push to sign the veteran catcher.

It is entirely understandable as to why Houston has Barnhart on their radar at this said juncture. The Astros are likely to lose Christian Vazquez through free agency, so they certainly could use a boost to their catching depth. Barnhart would provide them with another experienced option.

Alas, we will have to wait and see what happens with Barnhart from here. The Pirates are also making a push for him, but if he wants the chance to win a ring, Houston is the better option.
