MLB Rumors: Diamondbacks Outfielder Garnering Trade Interest

According to Nick Piecoro, teams are currently calling the Arizona Diamondbacks about their outfielders. One specific player receiving a lot of interest is Jake McCarthy.

McCarthy is a former first-round pick that has yet to blossom into a top-tier talent at the major league level. Yet, he also only comes with two years of experience, so it is apparent that he has plenty of time to change that. The 6-foot-2 outfielder is also coming off of a solid 2022 season that saw him have eight home runs, 43 RBIs, and a .283 batting average. That is solid production, and he will be aiming to build off of it in 2023.

McCarthy does not have a full-time role with the Diamondbacks, so Arizona could look to move him to help improve another area on their roster. Rebuilding clubs could certainly take a chance on him if they believe he can take that next step. Alas, time will tell what occurs on that front.
