MLB Rumors: Detroit Tigers Linked to Marlins Infielder

The Detroit Tigers are expected to add to their infield group before the start of the season. As a result, one player who is reportedly on their radar is Miami Marlins infielder Joey Wendle.

Wendle’s name has come up in the rumor mill often this offseason, but he has yet to be dealt. Multiple teams are also interested in him, so it seems like a matter of time that Wendle will be moved to another club. Now, we know that Detroit is one of the teams who want to add him.

After an All-Star campaign with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2021, Wendle struggled to regain that form with the Marlins in 2022. In 101 games, he had three home runs and a .259 batting average. Maybe a move to Detroit could help him bounce back in 2023.
