MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox Want to Bring Back All-Star

According to Jon Heyman, the Boston Red Sox are interested in bringing back All-Star DH J.D. Martinez.

Martinez just completed his fifth season in Boston this past campaign. In 139 games, he had 16 home runs, 62 RBIs, and a .274 batting average. Although his power numbers were down, he still made his fourth All-Star Game since joining Boston. When looking at his past success at the plate, it would not be surprising to see his power numbers jump back up in 2023, too.

With Boston's offseason being pretty atrocious, it makes sense that Chaim Bloom is trying to find ways to salvage it. Bringing back Martinez would be good, but Boston needs to do more with it if they hope to have any chance of bouncing back from their embarrassing 2022 season.
