MLB Rumors: Boston Red Sox Interested in Star Shortstop

After reports were swirling that the Boston Red Sox were making serious progress on a new contract with Xander Bogaerts, the 30-year-old shockingly inked an 11-year, $280 million deal with the San Diego Padres. Boston now has a major hole in its lineup, and Carlos Correa is the perfect player to fill it.
At the time of this writing, Correa is still a free agent. The 28-year-old is coming off of a very strong season with the Minnesota Twins, where he had 22 home runs, 64 RBIs, and a .291 batting average. The two-time All-Star would be the perfect replacement for Bogaerts, so let's see if Boston makes a real push for him from here.

Alas, time will tell what happens from here, but if the Red Sox want to have any chance of competing next season, they will need to add a player like Correa.
