MLB Rumors: AL Contender Is A Serious Rodon Suitor

The number of teams who appear "serious" on All-star pitcher Carlos Rodon continues to grow. According to MLB Insider Jon Heyman, we can now add the New York Yankees to that list.

They'll have to get in line, however, with the Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins, San Francisco Giants, New York Mets and others being though to be his prime suitors.

The Yankees are intent on adding a starting pitcher, and Justin Verlander is also on their radar along with Rodon. Their main focus will be to re-sign Aaron Judge, of course, but it seems like they have room for a big-time starter as well. In fact, according to Yankees beat writer Bryan Hoch, they even told Judge as much.

Rodon, 30, opted out of his $22M contract for 2023 with the Giants after proving he could stay healthy for a full season, and dominate. He posted a 2.88 ERA along with 237 strikeouts in a career-best 31 starts. He also made his second straight All-star appearance.
