MLB Rumors: 4 Teams Listed As Top Suitors For Jameson Taillon

Coming off a fine season in Pinstripes, the free agent market for starting pitcher Jameson Taillon is robust, according to many reports. Four teams are listed as his prime suitors at the moment.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand says the New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs and Baltimore Orioles are "the teams to watch".

The Yankees decided not to give Taillon the Qualifying Offer of $19.65M, which, in hindsight, looks like a mistake. It appears he'll be able to procure a multi-year contract far in excess of that.

The New York Mets, according to Andy Martino of SNY, seemed to be on the verge of signing Taillon within the last few days, but to no avail.

The Phillies, Cubs and Orioles have all made starting pitching one of their priorities this winter—and all are expected to spend some significant cash—so it's no surprise to see their names at the top of the list.

Taillon had a solid second season with the Yankees in 2022, posting a 3.91 ERA and 1.13 WHIP, with a 151:32 K/BB ratio. He owns career marks of a 3.84 ERA and 1.21 WHIP.
