Miami Marlins Sign Outfielder
The Miami Marlins have signed Garrett Hampson to a minor league contract.
Hampson just completed a five-year tenure with the Colorado Rockies, but now he is set to begin his time as a Marlin. In 90 games this past season with the Rockies, Hampson had two home runs, 15 RBIs, and a .211 batting average. Overall, it was a down year for him, but now he will have the chance of a fresh start in Miami.
Overall, there is no harm in the Marlins taking a chance on Hampson. He has 419 games of MLB experience and could be a decent depth option for the Marlins if he makes the team. He offers versatility, as he can play the outfield, second base, and shortstop as well.
