Los Angeles Angels Sign Outfielder
The Los Angeles Angels have signed BJ Boyd to a minor league contract.
Boyd split this past season between Single-A and Triple-A. In 70 games on the year, he had six home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .337 batting average. Overall, it was a solid year for the 5-foot-11 outfielder, and now he will be hoping to carry over that success to the Angels organization from here.
Boyd could end up being a decent depth option for the Angels when injuries inevitably arise during the season. Alas, time will tell if the 29-year-old receives a call-up during the year at all from here.
