Kansas City Royals Sign Pitcher

The Kansas City Royals have signed Mike Mayers to a minor league contract. 

Mayers spent this past season with the Los Angeles Angels, where he had a 1-1 record and 5.38 ERA in 24 appearances. Overall, it was not a particularly impressive year from the 31-year-old, but now he will be aiming to regroup with the Royals from here.

With the Royals not possessing the strongest of pitching staffs, it is fair to argue that Mayers could have a chance of making their MLB roster come Opening Day. We will have to wait and see what happens with the seven-year veteran on that front.
