Former Yankee Prospect DFA'd For 3rd Time This Month
In 2021, he was having a bang-up season in the minors, batting .290 with a .932 OPS, and New York Yankees fans were dismayed when he was traded at the deadline to the Pittsburgh Pirates for reliever Clay Holmes. But infielder Hoy Park has fallen on hard times since being promoted to the big leagues, and has now been DFA'd for the third time in the last month.

The Pirates designated Hoy for assignment in late November, and he was traded to the Boston Red Sox. But just a couple of weeks later, the BoSox DFA'd Hoy, and traded the INF/OF to Atlanta for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
Now, with the acquisition of excellent defensive replacement and pinch-runner Eli White, the Braves have also DFA'd Hoy.
Atlanta will have one week to trade him, or place him on waivers. The 26-year-old from South Korea had 179 total plate appearances for the Pirates across 2021 and 2022, batting .201 with a .638 OPS, five homers and 20 RBIs.
We'll see in the next few days if he can hook up with his 4th team of the past month.
