Former Pittsburgh Pirates Outfielder Signs Overseas
Instead of making a return to North America, Gregory Polanco has signed with the Chiba Lotte Marines of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball.
Polanco was once a notable part of the Pittsburgh Pirates' roster, but after struggling in his final two seasons there, he has not found a home in the majors since. However, he will now be focusing on putting together a strong year with the Marines from here.
In 823 career MLB games, Polanco had 96 home runs, 362 RBIs, and a .241 batting average. Let's see if he can land another major league contract if he puts up a big year in Japan from here.
