The Pittsburgh Pirates have made another sneaky good signing for their pitching staff, officially bringing on board solid veteran reliever Jarlin Garcia.

It's a one-year deal for $2.5M, with a club option of $3.25M club option for 2024.
The left-hander had a 3.74 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 7.8 K/9 last season in 65 innings with the San Francisco Giants. García, who turns 30 next month, has a 2.89 ERA in 188 appearances since the start of 2019.
In six years in the majors, he has a career 3.61 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP.
With the Pirates in talent-acquisition mode going into 2023, the most likely scenario would see them dealing Garcia at the trade deadline for a team in need of bullpen depth, as quality relievers are always in high demand at that time.
